A few useful answers.
What is WordCraft?
WordCraft is an open-source word processor from the ArtCraft project. It works with DOCX documents and includes text editing, formatting, page layout, tables, and PDF export. The release hosted here is v0.5.0 and is still alpha.
Is WordCraftai.net the official WordCraft website?
No. WordCraftai.net is an independent guide and browser host, not an ArtCraft website. We host the upstream web release and link desktop downloads directly to the official storytold/wordcraft GitHub repository.
Where are my documents stored?
The web editor processes the file in your browser. This site does not provide a cloud document account or upload your file to a document server. Save or export your own copy before closing the page; do not rely on the current browser session as your only copy.
Does the online editor include an AI assistant?
The browser editor does not include a hosted AI chat or an AI subscription. WordCraft offers separate desktop and command-line integrations, including MCP, for connecting your own AI tools. The MCP guide covers that setup.
Can WordCraft replace Microsoft Word for every document?
It is too early to assume that. WordCraft is alpha, and complex layouts, fonts, review features, or particular DOCX files may behave differently. Try it on copies of your files and review the saved result before using it for important work.
