About WordCraft AI — Independent WordCraft Editor & Guides

WordCraft AI is an independent browser-editor and guide site for the open-source WordCraft project. Learn about upstream attribution and our editorial approach.

Last updated: 2026-10-12

WordCraft AI at wordcraftai.net is an independent site for using and learning WordCraft, the open-source document editor. We provide a browser edition, links to official downloads, and original guides about editing documents and connecting local AI tools.

Who makes WordCraft?

The WordCraft editor is developed by the ArtCraft team and contributors. Its official sources are the WordCraft repository and the ArtCraft product page. The first release appeared on October 7, 2026. The release reviewed for our current guides is v0.5.0, and the upstream project describes WordCraft as alpha.

We are not ArtCraft, Microsoft, or the official WordCraft project. We did not create the upstream document engine. The name WordCraft AI identifies this independent website; it does not imply that the upstream team operates or endorses it.

What this site provides

  • WordCraft Online: access to a browser build of the upstream editor.
  • WordCraft Download: guidance to help you choose a build from official releases.
  • WordCraft Guides: original explanations of the first-document workflow, editor selection, and local MCP setup.

The browser edition runs an upstream WebAssembly build. This site does not provide a cloud document library or shared-document account. Save a copy of work you want to retain. A desktop MCP connection is a separate setup; opening our editor does not connect your AI account.

How we write and update guides

We identify the release or date of the documentation we checked, link to primary sources, and separate published capabilities from our editorial advice. If a workflow has not been independently tested, we do not present it as a hands-on test. A feature listed upstream is not a promise that every document or platform behaves identically.

Our current guides were reviewed on October 12, 2026. Release notes and the upstream issue tracker may contain changes published afterward. We favor small, reproducible document checks over unsupported compatibility or performance percentages.

Software and attribution

The upstream project offers its code under MIT or Apache-2.0, with separate notices for included assets and branding. The official license and credits describe these terms. The editor's authors retain their credits; hosting access does not transfer authorship to this site.

The notices included with our hosted build are available separately.

Support and corrections

For a problem with this website or an editorial correction, use Support Tickets. A site account is required to submit a ticket and follow the reply; reading guides and opening the public editor do not require one. Include the affected URL and a short description.

For a bug in the upstream editor, consult its issue tracker. A useful report includes the version, platform, reproduction steps, and a document sample you are entitled to share. Read our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service for this site's handling of data and service access.
